I was born and raised in Tashkent, the Capital of Uzbekistan.
I am however an ethnic Russian; my grandfather having moved to Tashkent from St Petersburg charged with building the aircraft factory there many years ago. So, my mother tongue is Russian, although I also speak Uzbek.
After completing my schooling, I went on to study at the Financial University of Tashkent and came away with a bachelor’s degree in finance. While at University, I also enrolled in a student exchange programme, spending a year in the UK, and perfecting my English there.
Looking for real opportunities that Tashkent could not offer me, I moved to the Middle East where most of my time was spent based in Dubai. I enrolled in a programme at the Sharjah Banking Institute (Sharjah being just 25 minutes away from Dubai by car) to study banking compliance and anti-money-laundering, and successfully received my AML (anti-money-laundering) Diploma, a Banking Compliance Diploma, and I qualified in Banking Operations.
With these qualifications behind me I moved into the real world of banking, joining the Dubai branch of the Iranian Bank Saderat, where I worked for the next fifteen years, and another five with UAE Invest Bank in Dubai, finishing my career there as a compliance manager.
During my 20 years in the UAE, I travelled extensively, to Tehran of course, and to Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, but also quite frequently to France on holiday. My husband had started a construction business on the Cote d’Azur in 2005, and after all those years in the UAE the irresistible pull of this beautiful part of the world overcame me.
So, I moved to the Cote d’Azur, and shortly afterwards met Alice at Fine & Country and she inspired me to try a new career in real estate! I have loved the excitement and the challenge, and very quickly felt I had become a valued member of the team, bringing my worldly experience, multilingualism, and I hope, a great deal of humour with me.
Outside of my real estate life, I love long walks along the beach or in the forests, I love traveling to beautiful places, and trying the best restaurants I can find – I love good food.
